There is a dress code for BISMUN. Boys and girls should wear business attire. Boys are required to wear a suit (jacket optional, but recommended) and tie. Girls should wear a formal outfit, which may consist of a business suit or a skirt with dress top. If you do not already own such formal clothing, you may wear your best BIS uniform.
You must have your laptop computer to work on resolution writing. However, you are not permitted to bring your laptop, an iPad, smart phone, or any other electronic device to the podium to speak. You may only bring written notes.
Due to time constraints, we will entertain only one amendment per issue.
You must follow the rules of decorum during opening speeches and moderated caucus. This includes speaking about yourself and about other delegates in the third person. The committee president or deputy chair will correct any mistakes made by delegates. As this will be the first conference experience for many of you, it is to be expected that there will be some coaching and correcting made throughout the day, and it is also expected that you will listen and learn.
If you wish to communicate with any other delegate, the committee leaders, or teacher advisors during moderated caucus, you will need to pass a message via one of the pages. Do not just get up and walk around. If you need to use the bathroom, you are required to sign out with the door manager, and then sign back in when you return.
